Drs. Connie Chiang & Walter Chao

Our Services

Services
Precise and unrushed eye examinations with full ocular health assessment. This by definition includes evaluation of glaucoma and cataracts in adults, and of learning-related visual skills in the younger population.

Expert frame and lens fitting, with styling to complement your lifestyle. We make use of a large selection of lens types including progressive designs, superthins and advanced photochromics to maximize performance and appearance.

Contact lens fitting of all types, including bifocal contact lenses. This is an area Dr. Chiang particularly enjoys.

Consultation for and comanagement of LASIK and other refractive surgeries. We are well-informed, up-to-date and conservative in this area.

Foreign body removal.

Treatment of acute ocular diseases including red eye, pink eye, conjunctivitis.

Myopia prevention and control. This is another area where we take special pains to keep up with current and historical literature.

"Alternative" eye and vision care therapies, including nutrition, herbology, bioenergetic therapies and others. This is Dr. Chao's area of expertise.

Microcurrent and nutritional therapies for macular degeneration.

Behavioral and developmental optometry. Assessment of visual and visual-perceptual skills as they affect reading, learning and athletics. Vision therapy is available when indicated, both as office and home-based programs. We typically find the time needed for remediation is less than the average traditional vision therapy practice.

Colored tints for reading problems and "scotopic sensitivity syndrome." Optometric phototherapy and syntonics.

Treatment of strabismus and amblyopia.

Appropriate referral to other health care professionals, both mainstream and complementary.

"Oops" note: many of the specialized therapies including low vision work, developmental testing and vision therapy are not part of the initial eye and vision evaluation.

Friendliness!

Types of Payment Accepted
We accept cash, personal checks, American Express®, MasterCard®, and Visa®.

Insurance Plans
We participate with VSP , Medicare, and Medicaid. We do accept a handful of other insurances; please contact us. We have chosen not to accept insurances that essentially require us to rush our patients to cover our office expenses.

Facilities and Equipment
In-house optical lab. A great selection of both upscale and basic frames. A nice selection of pediatric frames. Retinal and external photography.
